Northern Bear Building Services appointed main contractor for Newcastle’s Seven Stories refurbishment
Northern Bear Building Services are proud to have been appointed as main contractor for an exciting refurbishment project at Seven Stories – National Centre for Children’s Books in Ouseburn, Newcastle upon Tyne.
Kate Edwards, Chief Executive of Seven Stories said, “We are planning a major refurbishment, building new exhibitions and making our Visitor Centre even more welcoming. In the future there will be more opportunities to enjoy our wonderful collection – everyone who visits Seven Stories will have a great day out!”
Seven Stories visitor centre is open every day and after 10 years is in need of investment. The refurbishment will invest in the fabric of the building to make the visitor experience even more magical, to improve functionality for school groups and to make the building more energy efficient. The scheme will cost £750,000 and is being supported by a grant from Arts Council England and with the support of a number of trusts and foundations.
Northern Bear Building Services will be working on all levels of the building, remodeling and refurbishing them on a very tight 10 week program so the building can re-open for the summer holidays to welcome visitors back again.
