A new build extension to Keelman’s Way Primary School in South Shields was constructed to create a new physio facility. These works were carried out over a twelve week period after the schools summer recess period once the existing building had been altered to create the heads office. The works included the removal of existing hard finishes / construction of new strip foundations, substructure and superstructure works and the installation of a new flat roof.
Once the shell was completed it was fitted out with finishes in line with the existing school. A break in was carried out to connect the new extension with the existing school. Lesson learned – liaison with the school office manager was essential to successful outcome.
