This scheme comprised the reconfiguration and fitting out of the changing rooms / showering block, which took place during the school summer recess of 2013.
The existing facility was demolished back to the external walls and new walls, doors and suspended ceilings were installed.
All associated drainage, mechanical and electrical works were then carried out, including installation of new showers and WCs, followed by wall and floor finishes. The existing skylights were also removed and the roof made good.
Externally, ramped access was created to the front door.
The project was carried out entirely during the college’s summer holiday to ensure that the new facilities were ready for use upon the school’s reopening in September.
Liaison with school staff ensured that works were co-ordinated with the daily operation of the building, thus enabling both parties to work safely and effectively.
